Smyle Dental Newhall replaces missing teeth with implants that restore the root as well as the crown. What we treat
An implant is a titanium post that takes over the job the root used to do. That matters because jawbone with nothing to work against wastes away, which is what eventually changes the shape of the lower face. The post keeps that bone loaded and active.
Nobody should promise you an implant before looking at what is holding it. A 3D scan at our Newhall office shows the height and thickness of bone at the site. If there is not enough, we say so, and grafting goes into the plan rather than being discovered later.
The position is worked out on screen before you are in the chair, using the scan to keep the post clear of the nerve and the sinus. Planning it digitally means the appointment itself is shorter and considerably more predictable.
Where bone is too narrow for a full-width post and grafting is not the right call, a narrower implant can still anchor a crown or stabilise a loose lower denture. It is a smaller procedure with a quicker recovery.
The post does the work, the crown does the appearance. Ours are shaded and shaped against your own teeth so the finished implant is not the one people notice when you talk.

The titanium post is designed as a permanent fixture and routinely serves for decades. The crown on top is the part that wears and may need replacing at some point, in the same way any restoration does.
An implant stands alone, so the healthy teeth either side are left untouched, and it keeps the bone working. A bridge means preparing the neighbouring teeth. Where those teeth are already crowned, a bridge can be the more sensible option, and we will say so.
It is done under local anaesthetic and most patients describe it as easier than they had braced for. Placement usually takes under an hour. Sedation is available if you would rather not be fully aware of it.
If your policy lets you pick your own dentist, you can almost certainly use it at our Newhall office, and we will file the claim for you so your insurer reimburses you directly. Implant coverage varies a lot between policies, so we check yours and tell you the real number before you decide.
