Some situations will not wait: severe infection, a tooth broken below the gumline, trauma. Both offices hold same-day time for urgent cases, and where the tooth can still be saved we will tell you that rather than taking it out because it is quicker.
A tooth that has fractured at the gumline, or one still under the bone, needs a surgical approach rather than simple forceps. These cases are planned in advance from 3D imaging so the roots and the nerve pathways around them are known before anything begins.

The extraction itself is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you should feel pressure but not pain. Sedation is available if the anxiety rather than the pain is the problem. Soreness for a few days afterwards is normal, and we tell you what to expect before you leave.
