Minimal-prep approach

Smyle Dental – Dr. David Zaghi / Veneers

Veneers in Santa Clarita, CA

Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of your teeth, covering discoloration, chips, gaps and minor misalignment in one treatment. Smyle Dental Newhall works to a minimal-prep approach, removing as little of your natural tooth as the case allows, because what sits underneath still has to last.

What we treat

Veneer services offered in Santa Clarita

01

Porcelain, composite, prepless and Lumineers

Four routes, and which one suits you depends on how much you want changed and how much enamel we would rather leave alone. Porcelain is the durable option, custom made, stain resistant and good for 10 to 15 years with proper care. Composite is sculpted straight onto the tooth, usually in a single visit and at lower cost. Prepless veneers and Lumineers are ultra-thin, needing little or no enamel removed at all.

02

Two to three visits, start to finish

A consultation with digital imaging first, so you see what your smile could look like before committing to anything. Then preparation and impressions, temporary veneers while the permanent set is made, and the final placement. Care and maintenance are covered at the last visit rather than left to a leaflet.

03

Chips, gaps, stains and short teeth

Veneers handle several concerns at once: discoloration that will not respond to whitening, chips and minor cracks, gaps between teeth, minor misalignment, and teeth that are short or irregularly shaped. That is why they suit people who would rather have one treatment than four.

04

What it costs, in writing before we start

Pricing is set out plainly at the consultation, in writing, before you decide. We accept most major insurance, offer flexible payment plans and work with CareCredit. New patients can begin with a comprehensive exam and a full set of x-rays for $99.

05

When whitening or bonding is the better call

Veneers are not always the right answer. Professional whitening, dental bonding or orthodontics can get you where you want to be at lower cost, or without altering the tooth at all. Dr. Zaghi sets out every appropriate option at the consultation, including the ones that earn us less.

Why minimal prep matters

Fitting a veneer means removing a thin layer from the front of the tooth so the shell sits flush. How much gets removed is the single biggest long-term decision in the whole treatment, and it cannot be undone.

Dr. Zaghi works to remove as little as the case allows. More of your own tooth surviving underneath means a healthier tooth in ten years, and more options if the veneer ever needs replacing.

That is also why Smyle Dental Newhall will tell you when whitening or bonding would get you most of the way there without touching the enamel at all. The least invasive option that actually solves the problem is the one we recommend.

Why people stay

Six things we do differently

01

Good with nervous patients

First visits are booked longer on purpose so nothing is rushed, and we stop the moment you raise a hand. Most new patients tell us they have put this off for years.

02

You see the plan before the drill

Images, options and the cost in writing first. The least invasive option that actually solves the problem is the one we recommend.

03

Two offices, one dentist

Santa Clarita and Bakersfield run to the same standard with Dr. Zaghi at both. Book whichever is closer, or move between them.

04

932 Google reviews, 4.9 stars

The average dentist in Bakersfield sits at 4.3 stars across a handful of reviews. This practice holds 4.9 across 932 reviews, 822 in Bakersfield and 110 in Santa Clarita.

05

We file your insurance claims for you

You may be able to use your own dental insurance if you have a policy that allows you to choose your own dentist. If this is the case, we are happy to file your insurance claims for you so that you can be reimbursed by your insurance company.

06

Same-day emergency slots

Both offices hold time open each day for pain, swelling and breakages, because those never arrive on a convenient schedule.

1How long do veneers last?

With proper care, veneers last for years. Good hygiene, regular check-ups and not using your front teeth as tools are what make the difference. If you grind your teeth at night, tell us, because that shortens the life of any restoration and is worth protecting against.

2Will they look obviously fake?

They should not. Each veneer is matched to the colour, texture and translucency of the teeth around it, and the shape is planned around your face rather than to a template. The aim is teeth that look like better versions of your own.

3Does fitting them damage my teeth?

A thin layer of enamel is removed so the veneer sits flush, and that is permanent. It is exactly why we work to a minimal-prep approach and why we will steer you towards whitening or bonding when those would get you the result without altering the tooth.

4Can I whiten veneers later?

No. Whitening works on natural enamel and has no effect on porcelain. That is worth knowing before you start, because it usually makes sense to whiten your natural teeth first and then match the veneers to that shade.

5Do you take my insurance?

You may be able to use your own dental insurance if you have a policy that allows you to choose your own dentist. If this is the case, we are happy to file your insurance claims for you so that you can be reimbursed by your insurance company.

6I am nervous about the dentist. What do you do differently?

First visits are booked longer on purpose so nothing is rushed, and we stop the moment you raise a hand. Most new patients tell us they have put this off for years.

Still not sure?Ask us before you book. Smyle Dental Newhall will answer.
